'Red! Blue!' is an online symposium open to all Harvard students that will take place during the first two weeks of May.

The purpose of the symposium is to explore the possibility that another closely contested presidential election in 2008 could lead to a serious constitutional crisis in the United States.

Participants will be encouraged to examine the social, political and economic context of the Civil War and then apply their insights to a fictionalized scenario set in 2008. Could a modern day 'civil war' occur?

The expected time commitment for students is several hours across the two week period, but you may spend as much or as little time as you like. The symposium is not for credit but rather for the purpose of engaging participants in debate of the issues and collecting ideas. The symposium will be moderated by Dr. D. Quinn Mills of Harvard Business School.
